Forward collision warning systems warn you of an impending collision by detecting stopped or slowly moved vehicles ahead of your vehicle. Forward collision warning use radar, lasers, or cameras to scan the road ahead while you drive. If there is an impending collision, the system will warn you of the danger using lights, beeps, vibrations of your seat, or a combination of these. Some systems may also tighten your seat belt and pre-charge the brakes, making it easier for you to stop as quickly as possible. Many vehicles with forward collision warning also quickly becoming equipped with safety technologies like automatic emergency braking. If your vehicle has automatic emergency braking it will urgently apply the brakes if you fail to do so in time to avoid an impending collision.

Adaptive cruise control

This is an electronic system that allows the vehicle to slow while approaching another vehicle and accelerate again to the preset speed when traffic is cleared. It also warns the driver or applies brake if there is a high risk of a collision. In this project we are going to develop the micro controller based automatic vehicle speed control system. Now-a-days we can see that more number of accidents happens in highways. Most of the reason for accident is driver mistake.

In this paper, we present a vehicle active safety model for vehicle speed control based on driver vigilance detection using low-cost, comfortable, wearable electroencephalographic EEG sensors and sparse representation. The proposed system consists of three main steps, namely wireless wearable EEG collection, driver vigilance detection, and vehicle speed control strategy. Finally, a novel safety strategy of vehicle speed control, which controls the electronic throttle opening and automatic braking after driver fatigue detection using the above method, is presented to avoid serious collisions and traffic accidents.

Fortunately I was still in the parking lot of a store when it happened ag. The first is a leak in the system which could be at the rear of the master cylinder. Yes, a failing sensor can illuminate the malfunction indicator or ABS warning lamps, and may cause failure of the anti-lock braking system to operate safely and properly. See page 72 for additional information.

Adaptive cruise control ACC is an available cruise control advanced driver-assistance system for road vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. As of , it is also called by 20 unique names that describe that basic functionality. This is also known as Dynamic cruise control. Control is based on sensor information from on-board sensors.

However, achieving efficient Cruise Control is not easy in roads or urban streets where sudden changes of the speed limit can happen, due to the presence of unexpected obstacles or maintenance work, causing, in inattentive drivers, traffic accidents. In this communication we present a new Infrastructure to Vehicles I2V communication and control system for intelligent speed control, which is based upon Radio Frequency Identification RFID technology for identification of traffic signals on the road, and high accuracy vehicle speed measurement with a Hall effect-based sensor. A fuzzy logic controller, based on sensor fusion of the information provided by the I2V infrastructure, allows the efficient adaptation of the speed of the vehicle to the circumstances of the road. The performance of the system is checked empirically, with promising results. Road fatalities are a major concern in the developed world. Recent studies [ 1 ] show that a third of the number of fatal or serious accidents are associated with excessive or inappropriate speed, as well as changes in the roadway like the presence of road-work or unexpected obstacles.

Such systems may use a radar or laser sensor or a camera setup allowing the vehicle to brake when it detects the car is approaching another vehicle ahead, then accelerate when traffic allows it to.
